Give Your Kids What They Want with a Cheap Video Game Console

Many children love video games, but as a parent, you need to know something very important: kids don’t want to keep playing their old video games when new ones are on the market.  With the recent release of the Wii, the PlayStation 3, and the Xbox 360, it may be time to update your kid’s video game console with a new one.

The Nintendo Wii is one of the most sought-after video game consoles out there.  While stores may have the PlayStation 3 or the Xbox 360 in stock, they may be completely out of Wiis, and they may not get new ones in for quite some time.  This is because of the unique game play the Wii offers.  In fact, if you’re concerned about your children turning into couch potatoes, you may want to buy them the Wii instead of one of the other consoles.  The Wii’s unique controllers often require players to move their arms or do other activities to control their characters.  You can also purchase games like WiiFit, a game that is designed primarily for exercise.

The PlayStation 3, on the other hand, may be a better choice for teens and older gamers.  It includes a Blu-Ray player, so if you want to watch high-definition movies, buying a PS3 means you don’t have to purchase a separate player.  The PS3 also includes a built-in hard drive and games aimed for an older audience than the Wii.  However, a PS3 is more expensive than the Wii.

Finally, there’s the Xbox 360.  There are several different versions of the Xbox 360, with the cheapest often priced less than the Wii.  However, some of the top game series are not available for the Xbox 360, such as the Mario Brothers games or the popular Final Fantasy RPG series.  Like the PS3, many of the Xbox 360 games are aimed at older gamers, although children will find some games to enjoy.

Of course, there’s one final, important question to ask before you purchase any cheap video game console for your children: what game console do they want?  That’s the most important thing to ask because if you buy your kids the wrong console, they will not be happy.
